Universal accessibility is a topic of recent interest in the field of disability in Chile. Through public policies, the State has worked to guarantee mainly physical and sensory accessibility of spaces and public services. However, cognitive accessibility is still scarcely addressed despite its relevance and impact on the inclusion of people in society. Cognitive accessibility ensures that information is easy to understand by all people, regardless of their previous knowledge or intellectual abilities. In this context, since 2018, a web service (PICTOS) has been co-designed which provides support to ensure cognitive accessibility in the use of services. From inclusive research, with the active participation of an advisory group composed of adults with intellectual disability, a pictographic system and an information architecture have been created aimed at promoting and improving the cognitive accessibility of public and private services. Recently, progress has been made in the implementation of the support in various cities of the country, and in the transfer of the cognitive accessibility model for digital services.
